INTEGRATIVE-BASED APPROACH
HOW I WORK
My fundamental view is that my role as a counsellor is to assist clients in developing healthy coping skills in a supportive and empathic environment so that they can handle life’s pressures in a fruitful, effective way.
Integrative means that I am trained in a broad variety of approaches and can adapt your therapy to what works best for you.
For me, the idea of integrating several techniques and theories into my counselling practice seems very logical, and I naturally gravitate towards the person-centered, Gestalt, Cognitive behaviour / CBT, and Psychodynamic therapies. Coming from a background in Coaching skills, this will also form part of my practice.
As we are all unique, I feel these theories and approaches have a good basis from which I can support my clients move to where they want to be in their lives.
FIND YOUR WAY FORWARD
My job is to give you the tools and techniques to achieve a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.
I am trained to listen and respond in a way that will help you to understand yourself and others better.
I work with various issues (and many others) to include the following:
Bereavement
Loss and Grief
Anxiety and stress
Self Esteem and Confidence
Relationships
Family
Self Worth
Depression
Separation and Divorce
Identity
Body Image
Abuse
Trauma
Work-related stress
Bullying
School / Exam Pressure
Pregnancy
Miscarriage
I support people to identify and achieve their personal goals by coping with the issues that are causing them distress, anxiety, and stress.
I am also a trained Bereavement Counsellor able to work with individuals or groups.
If you are feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands or want to work through anything that is bothering you, my services aim to introduce clarity and self-motivation. I also teach techniques to better manage the emotional stress of everyday life. Counselling generally helps you find more effective ways to live a satisfying life.
